I got my first Beardie 1972 , Dunja (Trollflöjtens Lovely Sunday). I have never seriously considered any other breed since then. The Bearded Collie is an intelligent and positive dog with great capacity and a heart of gold. I breed mentally and exteriorally sound Bearded Collies for work and company. So far, my breeding programme has resulted in 23 completed Mental Tests, whereof 21 gun proof, 35 herding instinct tests, and 43 A or B hip scores. Like cream on the crop - a couple of CCs, a number of honorary mentions and first prizes in beauty shows, not to mention all the fine agility scores. It is my firm conviction that breeding for good herding ability will also produce all the good qualities we see in our dogs.
In my breeding today, I prefer to use dogs with HIT (Herding Instinct Test), proven good mentality and documented good exterior. Moreover I strive for a COI (Coefficient Of Inbreeding) lower than 2%. My goal is to produce able, true-to-the-standard Bearded Collies for work and leisure that are sufficiently out crossed to expand the gene pool for the generations that will follow.
